The Hooptee |
Today was a short work day. Jerry spotted a car yesterday and made an
appointment to see it this morning.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t THE ONE! We are
now driving Robert’s Hooptee. The Hooptee is Robert’s extra car that he
lends to which ever friend is in need. Our immediate need at first was a
vehicle to haul off all the debris in the garage at 2 Cool. Robert just
appeared one day with his car and said use it for as long as you need it.
We now need it to get from point a to point b until Jerry locates a car for
us. I hope that little job is taken care of soon. I appreciate the
Hooptee and Robert’s generosity but I am a little nervous in the Hooptee.
My seat rocks back and forth as we go merrily down the road. The entire
car can sway, rock, lurch, etc etc depending upon its mood. It is a
cheerful little car totally oblivious to its faults but sorta flighty…know what
I mean?
Jerry preparing to sand.. |
HUMMMM is plaster supposed to look like this |
By the time we arrived at Alignan it was
noon. Jerry immediately started plastering
the wall in the bathroom in preparation for the green board that will hold the
tiles. Hopefully I can find tile that I
want in the bathroom. That little
job has been terribly disappointing.
After he finished what he called a trial run on the plaster he began
sanding the walls in the chamber and the walls in the bathroom that are to be
painted.
Ok, wood or brass or glass? |
WOOD! |
Since I didn’t have an appointed job while
Jerry was plastering and sanding I decided to see what was under all that paint
on the stair newel post. One of the
contractors who came to the house said the ball could be wood, glass or
brass. I have been itching to discover
what was under the paint……today was THE DAY.
After a lot of brushing on paint remover, scraping it off very carefully
I discovered the ball on the Newel post
is……WOOD!
Nothing exciting to discover tomorrow. I will be painting
bedrooms…boring……
The plumber just
called. He is coming in the morning to
make a shopping list. Paul says he will
be back to start the job next week!
Hooray!!! The artisans are coming!
